Silicon Line NV Opens High Tech Micro Optical Manufacturing Site in Hasselt

Hasselt, Belgium, April 13th, 2016 – Silicon Line NV, a fully owned subsidiary of Silicon Line GmbH, today announced the opening of the Company’s first High Tech Micro Optical manufacturing site at the Corda Campus (Hasselt, Belgium).  This unique factory, which is using a state of the art patented manufacturing technology, will have a full production capacity of over 130 million optical units per year.

With this manufacturing facility Silicon Line will be able to accelerate the final implementation of the next generation of high speed optical connections needed for Virtual Reality, Internet of Things and 4K, 8K displays. It also supports already released solutions for HDMI 1.4 and 2.0, USB 3.1 up to 10 Gbps, DisplayPort 1.3 and MIPI D-PHY for cameras.
