February 2, 2017 – Silicon Line will soon be releasing our next generation products for high speed consumer applications. These new products will operate at up to 90 Gbps (18 Gbps per lane) which is a 50% increase in speed compared to our current products. However they will still feature the best in class ultra-low power consumption for which Silicon Line has become known. As data rates in next generation 8K TVs and VR products become ever higher this exposes the limitations of copper cables. Active optical cables designed around these new products enable the long, thin, light and flexible cables which the consumer wants but which copper cannot deliver.
