Analog Macro Development

 

In contrast to the digital world where IP-blocks are software based, at analog and mixed signal designs IP-blocks are very process specific and usually hard-wired.
Once designed and implemented in the target SoC or ASIC, an analog/mixed signal IP block may not be transferred to the next generation of this ASIC or even to another chip without modification.

Obsolete ASIC Redesign

Many long-life electronic products that are still in service use ASICs that were designed and manufactured years ago.
If the production of these ASICs gets discontinued, purchasing fresh supplies of the original ASICs is often not possible.

Evaluation Board Design and Development

The overall performance of a system not only depends on the characteristics of the analog or mixed signal ASIC design but quite substantial on the peripherals to this ASIC, as well.
One of the most important components aside from the ASIC is a carefully und accurately designed printed circuit board (PCB).
The PCB not only supplies power and interconnects the ASIC but is responsible also for rf-matching, noise and jitter performance, heat dissipation, oscillation tendencies suppression, and EMI suppression - to name just the most important.
