HDMI/DVI Chip Set - VCSEL Driver
SL82828
General Description
The SL82828 is a 4-channel high speed VCSEL driver optimized for being
connected to TMDS transmitter outputs at DVI or HDMI links.
The driver is designed in standard CMOS and operates from a
single 5V power supply voltage.
The SL82828 supports data rates of up to 4 x 3.4 Gbps.
The device draws the necessary supply current from the provided
+5V power supply of a DVI source or HDMI source.
Furthermore, due to the low power dissipation, the SL82828 can be
assembled in a single-package VCSEL/VCSEL driver hybrid design.
The SL82828 is DC-coupled to the VCSELs, thereby eliminating the need
for any bias filters and saving costs.
To facilitate assembly in a small form factor package the SL82828
integrates all necessary functions on chip. The VCSEL driver operates
over
a -40 to +100 șC temperature range.
