Munich, Germany, October 4, 2005:
Silicon Line GmbH, an analog and mixed signal IC design company,
announces today the release of one of the world-wide smallest
multi-data rate capable transimpedance amplifier in standard CMOS.
The only 830 µm x 830 µm measuring device supports data rates from
well below 100 Mb/s up to 1.5 Gb/s.
The wide data rate range makes the SL81010 suitable for various
transmission standards such as Gigabit Ethernet,
OC-3, OC-12, Fiber Channel, or IEEE-1394 S100-800 to name just a few.
The SL81010 features a low input referred noise current of <9
pA/SQRT(Hz) at 2 pF source capacitance, which enables at least -24 dBm sensitivity at 1 Gb/s at
an associated bit error rate of 10-12.
To facilitate assembly in small form factor packages and to reduce
assembly cost, the device doesn't require any external components and
integrates the photodiode filter network on chip, as well.
The SL81010 operates from a single 3.3 V power supply and is available
